The supernatural thriller, THE SLEEPING ROOM, starring Leila Mimmack (BECOMING HUMAN) and Julie Graham (TOWER BLOCK), is the second film from Movie Mogul (the producers of PANIC BUTTON). They raised £10,000 in 10 days from 37 investors in 6 countries. The monies will go towards the films completion, which has now entered ‘overfunding’ stage, where investment continues to grow.

As Director John Shackleton explains: “US legislation isn’t fully in place to enable equity crowd-funding yet, so the UK are leading the way on this and Seedrs was the first website to become FCA approved and do this legally. Films Of London and Nicola Horlicks Glentham Capital raised money there for a film fund, but The Sleeping Room was the first actual feature film on the Seedrs platform and the first film to do this.“

Producer Gareth I. Davies added: “The success of the campaign clearly demonstrates the emergence of an alternative funding route for indie producers to break down existing barriers in seeking out private investors, by connecting us directly to individuals who clearly have a desire to invest their money into producing original films.”

Set in present day Brighton, ‘The  Sleeping Room’ is described as a ‘ creepy tale of Victorian revenge’ and also stars Joseph Beattie,  Christopher Adamson, David Sibley and Chris Waller.
