Earlier this week saw the release of a supercool new poster, and a gruesome red-band trailer for Jerome Sables new musical horror comedy, Stage Fright. Now comes a much less violent, yet still awesome green-band trailer. Check it out below.
The film is the feature length debut of director Jerome Sable, and Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles called the movie “an assured debut” and believes the genre-bending “will appeal to genre fans of all stripes.”
Magnet will release the film in the US on its Ultra VOD platform, launching it on iTunes and on demand on April 3 ahead of a theatrical release on May 9.
Said Sable: “I am honored that they’re helping me with my lifelong dream of bringing bloodthirsty gorehounds and musical theater geeks a little bit closer together.”
Stage Fright stars Allie MacDonald and Douglas Smith, with appearances by Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf, and was produced by Ari Lantosand Jonas Bell Pasht of Serendipity Point Films.
Synopsis:
Described as “Scream meets Glee,” the pic centers on a starry-eyed teen who is stuck working in the kitchen of a snobby musical theater camp. Soon, however, a bloodthirsty masked killer enters from stage left and the carnage begins. Driver plays Kylie Swanson, a haunted star of the Broadway stage and mother of two siblings who find themselves at the center of the unfolding horror at the camp. Meat Loaf plays Roger McCall, a slumming Broadway producer-turned-camp director.
