A trailer has been released for director Atom Egoyan’s crime thriller, Devil’s Knot, starring Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth. Check it out below.

The film, which is about the West Memphis Three killings, received mixed reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, and is based on Mara Leveritt’s book “Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three.”

The film was written by Scott Derrickson (Sinister) and Paul Harris Boardman, and also stars Alessandro Nivola, Stephen Moyer, Dane DeHaan, Mireille Enos, Bruce Greenwood, Elias Koteas, and Amy Ryan.

The film is due for release on 9th May.

Devil’s Knot tells the compelling story of three teenagers accused of the brutal 1993 murder of three 8-year old boys in Memphis, Ark. – two of them sentenced to life imprisonment and one to death. The film explores the lives of deeply misunderstood outsiders, their families and communities, and their darkest fantasies. The conviction of the West Memphis Three – Damien Echols, Jesse Misskelley, Jr., and Jason Baldwin – riled the American justice system, shocked a tightly knit religious town and outraged the nation.
