Hammers new production, The Quiet Ones, is shaping up to be one of my most anticipated horror films of the year, and today two new and utterly terrifying TV spots have been released.

Both spots cover what has already been seen in the chilling full length trailer, but still manages to send a shiver down your spine and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

Hammer are making one hell of a comeback over the past few years, with films like The Woman in Black, Let Me In and Wake Wood proving the production company has lost none of its edge. The Quiet Ones just might be their most terrifying film yet, and the new TV spots certainly suggest that.

Check out the spots below, but don’t watch them alone!

Inspired by true events, THE QUIET ONES tells the story of an unorthodox professor (Jared Harris) who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist. Based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy, the rogue scientists perform a series of tests on a young patient, pushing her to the edge of sanity. As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realises they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.

Directed by John Pogue, the film stars Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Erin Richards, Rory Fleck-Byrne, and Olivia Cooke.

THE QUIET ONES IS RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS ON APRIL 11TH 2014 and US THEATERS ON 25TH APRIL 2014

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
