Teaser trailer for ‘The Expendables 3’ has LOTS of action stars, and lots to digest!

As promised earlier this week, a new trailer has exploded on-line for The Expendables 3, and as expected, it is a lot of fun.

Going through the extensive list of big names is fun enough, but there is a slightly different feel to this trailer compared to the first two films. There is a real sense of togetherness from the actors, a serious sense of fun and good humour, and the action looks superb. The way the new big names are welcomed into the film is also highly impressive. Wesley Snipes, showing one of hell of a beard early on, gets the final one-liner, while Antonio Banderas and (as always) Mel Gibson look insane. Harrison Ford oozes old guy coolness, and Kelsey Grammer looks well up for some trouble.

A great teaser trailer, so bring on the full length trailer, and bring on The Expendables 3. My only concern is how the trailer says to “hang on for one last ride”. It indicates this could be the final Expendables movie, although I am pretty sure there is already talk of who will be in the fourth film.

The Expendables 3 will feature Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to their roles in the first two films with Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer and Harrison Ford joining the all-star cast along with Kellan Lutz, MMA star Ronda Rousey, welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell.

Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) directs the film, with veteran Dan Bradley (The Bourne franchise; Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Quantum of Solace) directing the second unit.  The Expendables 3 is written by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt, who previously teamed on Olympus Has Fallen, and Sylvester Stallone.

Lionsgate will release The Expendables 3 in North America and the UK on August 15, 2014.

Synopsis:

In The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
