Toby Kebbell to play Dr Doom in Josh Trank’s ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot

Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot seems to be taking forever to get started, but with a release date set for June 19th 2015, the main casting is just about completed.

Back in February it was revealed that the Fantastic Four had been cast:

Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Michael B. Jordan (Human Torch), Kate Mara (Invisible Girl), and Jamie Bell (The Thing).

Now Fox are finalising a deal for the films main villain, Dr Doom. Jack Huston and Domhnall Gleeson have been in the running for the role, but Fox have decided on British actor Toby Kebbell to play the character.

Kebbell made his first feature film appearance as Johnny Quid in Guy Ritchie’s RockNRolla, and has been steadily joining bigger and bigger films. Since RockNRolla in 2008, Kebbell has been seen in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, War Horse, The Counsellor, The East and will be seen in the soon to be released Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Based on the Marvel comic “The Ultimate Fantastic Four,” the contemporary update will focus on the characters as young men and women. Josh Trank will helm the pic with Simon Kinberg, Matthew Vaughn and Gregory Goodman serving as producers.

“The Fantastic Four” is slated for release June 19, 2015. A second installment is due in summer 2017.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
