‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ reveals five featurettes, plus Rogue WILL be appearing in the film afterall

After the final X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer was released this week, the promotional activity continues with two new featurettes which were released overnight. Both featurettes feature some new footage from the film, with the first one looking at how Magneto (Michael Fassbender) retrieves his helmet, and this was a last minute scene added in by director Bryan Singer. The second featurette looks at how the costumes were designed to look authentic for the 1973 setting.

Three other featurettes have been made available by Norton, and serve as trailers but with the cast being interviewed as well, and again we are blessed with some cool new footage from the film.

All featurettes can be found at the bottom of this post.

More news has surfaced from the X-Men: Days of Future Past film, and it is news that will certainly please fans of Rogue (Anna Paquin). Last December director Bryan Singer confirmed that Rogue had a scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and while it was a difficult decision, unfortunately her scene had to be removed from the final cut of the film. Singer did promise that the scene would appear as a bonus feature on the eventual DVD & Blu-ray release.

However, fans have noticed that Anna Paquin’s name appeared in the latest trailer, and Rogue even got her own Empire cover back in December. All this points to Rogue not being cut from the film, and actually being in it? Well it has now been confirmed by a rep from Fox that while Rogue’s appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past will not be as big as originally planned (it will essentially be a cameo), she WILL be making a brief appearance.

Vulture finally uncovered the reason why Paquin was never dropped. “Rogue is pivotal in a certain scene and would have been impossible to cut out of the movie completely,” they write.

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

The movie is directed by Bryan Singer and stars a stellar cast which includes (deep breath) Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage and Halle Berry.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is released by Twentieth Century Fox Film Company nationwide on 22nd May 2014.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
