Gerard Butler Drops Out of POINT BREAK Remake

Gerard Butler has apparently dropped out of the upcoming Point Break remake.

Butler was set to play the role of surfer Bodhi, the role which Patrick Swayze played to sheer brilliance in Kathryn Bigelow’s original movie in 1991.

It’s not quite clear why Butler has dropped out of the project, but some say that the shooting schedule conflicts with his role in Olympus Has Fallen sequel, London Has Fallen, whilst others cite creative differences.

The remake, set to be directed by Ericson Core, will still feature Luke Bracey as the ‘young, dumb and full of cum’ undercover FBI agent Johnny Utah, whilst Ray Winstone will take the role of Gary Busey’s character, Pappas.

Unlike Bigelow’s cult flick, which saw the film centre around a group of surfers, the remake will see many different extreme sports explored.

I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 2, Yakuza Zero and Alien: Isolation
