Yes, finally and after what feels like forever planning and speculating, JJ Abrams has begun filming Star Wars: Episode VII, and may The Force be with him!
To confirm the news, just in case fans felt this is actually too good to be true, Abrams’ Bad Robot production company released the following image of the films clapperboard.
Original stars of the saga Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker are joined by John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow for the new movie.
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
Abrams, whose previous films include Star Trek and Super 8, recently said: “Everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
