Finally the full length trailer has exploded on-line for The Expendables 3, and you know what, I cannot wait. I loved the first film, was slightly disappointed with the second, but the third film is looking just awesome.

The full length trailer is packed full of great action, massive explosions and special effects, some remarkable tongue ‘n’ cheek comedy, and each and every character gets a chance to shine. The cast all appear to be having a whale of a time, and this could well be the most fun film to see at the cinema this summer blockbuster season.

However, before we get to the trailer and details of the film, a certain action star absent from all three films has opened up about why he will never do an Expendables movie. Say hello to Steven Seagal, the man everyone is desperate to see in the franchise, but who clearly will never take part.

Talking to The Big Issue, Seagal called the stars of the franchise “funny people”. He said “Life is too short to work with funny people. There’s good and bad people everywhere and a lot of people in The Expendables I like too. So it’s okay.”

He added: “I like Jason Statham. I like Jet Li, people like that”

He also claimed that Liam Neeson (who has not been in an Expendables film yet) was not a great warrior! “He can’t fight, he’s not an action movie guy at all and he’s getting action movies now so that should tell you somethingHe’s a great dramatic actor. Is he an action guy? No. Is he a great fighter, a great warrior? No. Let’s be honest.”

OK then! It seems Seagal has also upset Sylvester Stallone on one occasion, with Stallone explaining “Steven Seagal said that he ‘didn’t associate with that kind of element’ – meaning me. So I slammed him up against a wall.

At that time, our testosterone was running full bore. He was full of his height and I was full of… Myself. But we made up. He can be very abstract.”

The Expendables 3 will feature Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to their roles in the first two films with Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Kelsey Grammer and Harrison Ford joining the all-star cast along with Kellan Lutz, MMA star Ronda Rousey, welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell.

Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) directs the film, with veteran Dan Bradley (The Bourne franchise; Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Quantum of Solace) directing the second unit. The Expendables 3 is written by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt, who previously teamed on Olympus Has Fallen, and Sylvester Stallone.

Lionsgate will release The Expendables 3 in North America and the UK on August 14th 2014.

Synopsis:

In The Expendables 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
