It seems that Edgar Wright, despite being replaced on Ant-Man, is pushing forward towards his next film. Reportedly, that project is likely to be Baby Driver, from an original script from Wright that the director originally started talking about back in 2009. Deadline reports that Baby Driver, while not formally announced as a “go” picture, is very likely to be announced as a partnership between Wright and Working Title, Wright’s collaborators on his Cornetto Trilogy, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End. We don’t really know anything about Baby Driver, except that Deadline calls it “a collision of crime, action, music and sound.” That doesn’t really tell you anything, does it?
Wright was actually linked to a film of the TV series The Night Stalker to star Johnny Depp, but I guess the director’s chair for this will now go to someone else. We’ll likely have more information later this week at Comic Con. Now what I want to know is, will Baby Driver be directed by the Wright who made Shaun Of The Dead or the Wright that made the dreadful Scott Pilgrim Vs The World? We”ll see.
