There was some confusion over whether Warner Brothers untitled horror film, due for release in October this year, was the Conjuring spin-off Annabelle. However, just two weeks ago it was finally confirmed that the mysterious film was Anabelle, and the creepy doll would be haunting US cinemas on October 3rd, before heading to the UK on October 10th.
Finally a teaser trailer has been released, along with a very unsettling poster, and both can be found below.
The trailer goes for the quiet, minimal approach, and is all the more effective for it. The two minute trailer manages to build a sense of dread, unease and panic, and looks to follow in the footsteps of James Wan’s The Conjuring nicely.
James Wan’s regular cinematographer John R. Leonetti is be directing Annabelle, Peter Safran and “The Conjuring” director James Wan are producing. Gary Dauberman wrote the script.
Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders), Ward Horton, and Alfre Woodard star.
“The Conjuring” included a haunted doll named Annabelle as part of a collection of demonic objects assembled by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
