‘Guardians of the Galaxy’: Learn more about Zoe Saldana’s Gamora + new images of Michael Rooker’s Yondu

I don’t care what anybody says, even with that crazy green skin, Zoe Saldana as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy is hot! Thankfully a new featurette has been released focusing just on Saldana’s character, and it gives a little more insight into who she is and what part she plays in the film.

Gamora is the adopted daughter of galactic warlord Thanos, but turns against her mentor to become a force for good as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

You will find the featurette below, but we also have another treat for you, two brand new images of Michael Rooker as the blue skinned Yondu!

The character has been absent from the marketing campaign up until now, which is surprising considering Rooker is one of the big names of the cast. However, the spotlight is finally moving towards Yondu, and we saw him in screen for the first time in the extended trailer released earlier this week.

Now Marvel have revealed two new images of Yondu: one see’s him driving a spaceship, and the other see’s him with his gang known as The Ravagers. He doe not look too happy in either image, brandishing a rather cool growly face. Yondu’s character still remains a bit of a mystery (which is a good thing) but we do know that he is a close associate of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).

Guardians of the Galaxy is written and directed by James Gunn, and the cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, Peter Serafinowicz, and Benicio Del Toro.

The film will be released in UK cinemas July 31st.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team – the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is presented by Marvel Studios.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
