New trailer for Kevin Smith’s Tusk; Smith talks True North trilogy following Tusk at Comic Con 2014

A new trailer has been released for Kevin Smith’s Human Centipede style horror, Tusk. Check it out below.

Tusk features Long as a podcast host who is taken prisoner by Mr Howe (Michael Parks). However, in Tusk, there is no ransom demand, no hidden agenda about a former crime, Mr Howe simply wants to turn Wallace Bryton (Long) into a Walrus!

Sony Pictures acquired UK rights to Tusk back in February, and will release the film later this year with the US release date of September 19th 2014 recently confirmed.

The film, also written by Smith and born out of one of his immensely popular SModcasts, stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, and Michael Parks.

Tusk is a modern-day monster movie that follows a journalist named Wallace (Long) who finds the story of a lifetime in Mr. Howe (Parks), a worldwide adventurer with amazing tales and a curious penchant for walruses.

Smith has also at Comic Con that Tusk is the first film in what he hopes will be a trilogy of films called “The True North Trilogy”, with Yoga Hosers following Tusk (which could be ready for release as soon as next year) and a new film called Moose Jaws with Smith simply describing as Jaws with a moose!!!! The trilogy would contain all the same actors that appear in Tusk.

Smith gave a bit more detail on the two new films, as reported by Slash Film stating that Yoga Hosers was “spawned by an odd story of theft among yoga enthusiasts, that seems to not be the focus at all“. Smith also said the film would be a PG-13 movie as it stars two 15-year-old girls in the key roles, who may or may not have superpowers, with Smith being a little vague!!

On Moose Jaws, Smith was a little more vague, only stating that “it featured a scene of the killer moose chowing down on a little girl”.
