Joely Richardson has been cast alongside Robert Sheehan, Jack Fox and Lily Cole in The Messenger which is now in production.
Richardson, best known for her roles in Thanks for Sharing, The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo, The Patriot with Mel Gibson and the recurring role of Catherine Parr in The Tudors, will take on the role of the Psychiatrist.
Speaking of the latest casting, producer Terry Stone commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to have an actress of Joely’s talent and integrity attached to our project. She makes a fantastic addition to an already incredible cast.”
The story of The Messenger centres on Jack, living with the dead every day, who unwillingly becomes embroiled in the unfinished business of Mark, a journalist brutally murdered in the local park and his television presenter wife, Sarah, to whom he’s desperate to say one last goodbye.
Other co-stars include David O’Hara (Reach Me, The Departed) and Tamzin Merchant (Jane Eyre, The Tudors).
The Messenger is produced by Terry Stone (for Gateway Films), Richard Turner and Richard Hart (for Ratio Film) and Michael Knowles. It is being executive produced by Omega Trading, Investor Profit Portfolio and The Wealth Advisory.
