If you have seen directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s astonishing horror Resolution, then I am sure we are in agreement that the highly complex and brain twisting work of near genius is just incredible, and I am positive it would have left a lasting impression.

I am so excited about their next film, Spring, and with its world debut about to take place shortly at the Toronto International Film Festival, finally the first trailer has been released, and it is every bit as amazing as I expected. You will find the chilling and utterly mesmerising trailer below, which leaves you hanging, begging to find out more. Thanks to Deadline for sharing.

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead direct Spring, with Benson also on writing duties. Lou Taylor Pucci, one of the stand out actors from Fede Alvarez’ Evil Dead reboot, stars in the film. Joining him will be Nadia Hilker (The Other Wife TV series), Chris Palko – better known as rapper Cage – Jeremy Gardner – writer / director / star of indie zombie hit The Battery – and Vinny Curran (Resolution). XYZ Films has picked up all worldwide sales rights.

Synopsis:

A young man in a personal tailspin flees the US to Italy, where he sparks up a romance with a girl hiding a dark secret. What begins as a naturalistic romance in an idyllic Mediterranean town, takes an unexpected turn as the two lovers confront figurative and literal relationship monsters. Balancing dark humor, heart, and visceral thrills, Spring evokes undercurrents of Beauty and the Beast by way of Linklater and early Cronenberg, while remaining its own cutting edge genre cinema.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
