Two new sci-fi trailers have been released today, one rather good, the other not so. The first is Predestination, which stars Ethan Hawke and looks ever so slightly like Minority Report, but actually looks really interesting.
The second is a rather dull new trailer for The Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending, which had its release date shoved back almost a year a few months ago. The delay was to add some new special effects and polish the film, which is now all on display in the latest trailer.
Predestination is written and directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, and the cast includes Ethan Hawke, Noah Taylor, Sarah Snook, Christopher Kirby and Freya Stafford.
In mid-’70s New York, a man in a fedora slips into an office building’s boiler room, carrying a mysterious briefcase. He uncovers a bomb, and is attacked while struggling to deactivate it. He succeeds — almost. Horribly disfigured, he’s transported to his agency’s headquarters where he receives a new face. He’s a temporal agent, traveling back and forth through time, altering history, and his assignment — thwart the mass murder perpetrated by the so-called ‘Fizzle Bomber’ — continues. New face, new place. Now he’s undercover as a bartender. He falls into conversation with a tough yet androgynous customer. There’s something off about the guy, who offers to enlighten the agent with ‘the best story you ever heard’.
Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis star in Jupiter Ascending, an original science fiction epic adventure from filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski (The Matrix).
Jupiter Ascending lands in UK cinemas 6th February 2015.
Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks.
