I personally find the idea of Superman battling Batman a bit absurd, as one has all these superpowers and the other doesn’t have any. However, it seems that things could be evened up a little in Zach Snyder’s Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice. A Batman-News reader has apparently got some inside knowledge about the upcoming blockbuster from Rehan Jalali, Ben Affleck on the movie. He mentions about Affleck having a major topless scenes, which will sure please his female fans, but also says that he will have two different Batmobiles and be wearing a second Batsuit in addition to the one that has already been revealed.
Apparently it will be an armour-plated version which will be covered in Kryptonite – the one thing that can harm Superman – and fire missiles, which sounds contradictory with Batman’s ‘no killing’ rule, but of course missiles won’t actually kill Superman anyway and we know from Man Of Steel that Snyder cares little for these kinds of ‘rules’. A glimpse of it was actually featured in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice footage that was shown at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, and supposedly, going by the description, it’s also very similar to the suit that Bruce Wayne created to fight Superman in Frank Miller’s classic graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns, which is so revered by comic book fans that I don’t know why they just don’t film it, though I haven’t really enjoyed any film derived from Miller’s work up to now so it may not translate well to the screen. I didn’t enjoy Man Of Steel much either, but let’s hope that Snyder and his team have taken note of the criticisms many had of what was a hugely divisive film, and deliver an epic spectacle worthy of its two title character’s legacies.
