Warwick Davis returns to Star Wars franchise as actor confirms joining ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ cast

Warwick Davis announced today through the Star Wars youtube page that he has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII, and I am sure the news will delight fans.

Davis has already appeared in two previous Star Wars films. Most famously he played Ewok Wicket in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and later he played Anakin’s friend and gambler Weazel in Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He even doubled for the Frank Oz-voiced Yoda and cameo’ed as a Tatooine street trader in Episode I.

The video of Davis confirming the news can be found below, and while it is highly amusing, there is no confirmation of what role he will play in the JJ Abrams’ directed film, which is nearing the end of filming.

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the Saga Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
