Oh wow, the trailer for The Mule looks absolutely brilliant! The Australian crime thriller come dark comedy has just dropped its first trailer, and boy this really does look incredible.
Angus Sampson (Insidious, 100 Bloody Acres) plays drug mule Ray Jenkins, a man who when caught by customs, refuses to go to the toilet and reveal his hidden stash. The concept for the film sounds so ridiculous it can only result in something very special, and the highly infectious trailer certainly hints that The Mule will be a whole lot of fun, with a seriously dark edge. It boasts an insanely awesome cast too.
Check out the trailer below.
Inspired by true events, THE MULE is directed by Angus Sampson and Tony Mahony, with a darkly comic screenplay by Sampson, Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), and Jaime Browne.
The film stars Hugo Weaving alongside Sampson and Whannell with an ensemble cast including Ewen Leslie, Geoff Morrell, Georgina Haig, Noni Hazlehurst and John Noble.
The Mule arrives in UK cinemas 9th October.
It’s 1983. A naive man with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach is detained by Australian Federal Police. Alone and afraid, ‘the Mule’ makes a desperate choice; to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence…literally. And by doing so becomes a ‘human time-bomb’; dragging cops, criminals and concerned family into his impossible escapade.
