I am sure everyone who has seen vicious French horror Frontier(s) (above) will agree that the film was incredible, and director Xavier Gens also impressed with the Michael Biehn starring apocalyptic thriller The Divide. Also directing a shocking segment of The ABCs of Death (X is for XXL), Gens is a name horror fans know well.

Coming out of the American Film Market, news has been announced that Gens will next be working with writers Chad and Carey Hayes on a new horror called The Crucifixion. In case you didn’t know, Hayes both worked on a little horror directed by James Wan called The Conjuring. So, highly talented director working with the writers of one of the finest horror films of recent years should add up to a terrifying horror.

Based on true events, “When a priest is jailed for the murder of a nun on whom he was performing an exorcism, an investigative journalist strives to determine whether he in fact murdered a mentally ill person, or if he lost the battle with a demonic presence.”

Peter Safran (Annabelle, The Conjuring) and the Hayes brothers will produce, with Lotus Entertainment’s Bill Johnson, Jim Seibel, D.J. Gugenheim and Ara Keshishian executive producing. Lotus will handle international sales and introduce to buyers at AFM.

Lotus’ Jim Seibel said: “Peter and the Hayes brothers have an amazing track record in the genre space, and we’re excited to be teaming up with them. We felt that a smart, edgy thriller like The Crucifixion, combined with this amazing creative team, had all the right ingredients to be a global box office hit.”

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
