Director Jon Wright delivered the perfect blend of horror, sci-fi, comedy and monsters with the excellent Grabbers, and he did a fairly good job with school based revenge horror, Tormented.
Now Wright is back with what appears to be a huge budget, some massive robots and a really fun looking sci-fi, full of really impressive special effects. The first trailer for Robot Overlords, which boasts an impressive cast including Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson, has now landed and I am sure you’ll agree that it looks great.
Robot Overlords is written and directed by Jon Wright, with Mark Stay co-writing. The cast includes Ben Kingsley, Gillian Anderson, Callan McAuliffe, Steven Mackintosh, Geraldine James and Tamer Hassan.
The film arrives in UK cinemas on 19th March 2015.
Earth is conquered by robots from a distant galaxy; survivors are confined to their houses and must wear electronic implants, risking incineration by robot sentries if they venture outside.
In robot-occupied Britain, city centres are devastated, and a gang of teenagers live in a seaside town constantly under robot threat. Intimidating sentries patrol the streets; snipers are merciless death machines. The Mediator is deceptively childlike but unnervingly coercive. The robot base is The Cube, a massive mother-ship that dominates the horizon.
