Set to be released in UK cinemas on 6th August 2015, information on Josh Trank’s “grounded” reboot of Fantastic Four has been scarce to say the least. It took an age for the main cast to be revealed, and even longer for Toby Kebbell to be confirmed as the main villain Dr Doom.
With no trailer in sight, and barely an image, today we can finally give you an exciting update on what could be the surprise superhero film of next year. The films official synopsis appeared on Rotten Tomatoes this week, and was later confirmed by IGN, so we finally have a good idea of what will be going down in Trank’s take on the Fantastic Four.
Personally, I can’t wait for this, and while I actually hated the previous film adaptations, I was a massive fan of Trank’s Chronicle, and with rumours of found footage making an appearance in his reboot, I am all for seeing what such a talented director can put together.
Directed by Josh Trank, Fantastic Four stars Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Miles Teller as Reed Richards and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm.
Synopsis:
THE FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
This is going to make the first two FF films look like Shakespeare. Not giving it a dime of my money.
