Yesterday a brief but terrifying UK trailer was released for what critics are calling the most terrifying film of 2015, It Follows. Now comes the longer US version which reveals a little more about the films plot, if you are brave enough to watch it.

The idea of someone following you all the time is a terrifying concept, and the genius idea that the only way to get rid of this evil monster is to pass it on to someone else is a great concept for a horror film, and if you really buy into the story here in the trailer, then I am positive it will give you shivers.

The movie, directed by David Robert Mitchell (“The Myth of the American Sleepover”) from his own script, centres on a teenager plagued by disturbing visions and the inescapable sense that something is following her after a sexual encounter.

Financed by Animal Kingdom and Northern Lights, the film was produced by Rebecca Green, Laura D. Smith, Mitchell, David Kaplan and Erik Rommesmo. The cast includes Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Jake Weary, Olivia Luccardi (“Girls”) and Lili Sepe.

It Follows creeps into UK cinemas on 27th February.

Synopsis:

For 19-year-old Jay (Maika Monroe, AT ANY PRICE, The Guest), the fall should be about school, boys, and weekends at the lake. Yet, after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
