Turbo Kid is about to have its world premiere at Sundance, and to celebrate the event, Epic Pictures have release the very first teaser and a clip, and trust me you’ll want to see this!
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, and set in the 90’s, the film looks superb and full of over the top violence that should make cult movie fans go weak at the knees. The entire film on the basis of this teaser and clip looks fantastic, and reminds me of the could care less about the certificate madness we used to get from the 80’s and 90’s films. Turbo Kid will be awesome.
Turbo Kid is directed by François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell. The cast includes Munro Chambers, Michael Ironside, Laurence Leboeuf, Aaron Jeffery and Edwin Wright.
Synopsis (via Sundance):
It’s 1997. In a ruined post-apocalyptic world, the orphaned Kid survives on his own through drought-ridden nuclear winter, traversing the Wasteland on his BMX, scavenging for scraps to trade for a scant supply of water. When his perpetually chipper, pink-haired new best friend Apple is kidnapped by a minion of evil overlord Zeus, the Kid summons the courage of his comic book hero and prepares to deliver turbocharged justice to Zeus, his buzzsaw-handed sidekick Skeletron, and their vicious masked army.
