Neill Blomkamp was working on an ‘Alien’ sequel, and here is some stunning artwork to prove it

Every sci-fi fan should know the name Neill Blomkamp, the seriously talented director of District 9, Elysium and this years Chappie. With only three films so far to his name, already he has proved himself a major, interesting talent and the thought of him working on an Alien sequel is almost too good to be true.

Sadly, it IS too good to be true, because Blomkamp has just released some really cool concept art for an Alien sequel of sorts. It has not been confirmed if this was a movie, a video game or even a comic, but whatever it was meant to be, it is devastating news that Blomkamp is no longer working on it.

Based on the impressive image below, including a frightening Xenomorph, plus older, bruised up version of Ripley and Hicks, this could have been something really special. Maybe, just maybe Ridley Scott will see this and think to himself, “I’ll pass on directing Prometheus 2 (which seems to be what is happening anyway), let’s hire Neill Blomkamp to direct it”.

If Prometheus left Alien fans slightly annoyed, then please, please hire Blomkamp to make the sequel, the proof of his ambition is surely in these images, and he would make a worthy sequel to one of the most beloved horror sci-fi franchises ever created.

Here are the directors Tweets, and Instagram images:

Oh shit

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
