It is no secret that Marvel have been desperate to make a deal with Sony so that Spider-Man can come over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and quite recently it was rumoured that Marvel were hoping to have Spider-Man ready for Captain America: Civil War.
A deal could not be made in time for that, but Latino Review are no saying that Marvel and Sony have come to an agreement, and that a deal has been made for Spider-Man to appear in Marvel’s Phase 3.
While this is a rumour for now, and something which Sony have now denied, Latino Review are usually bang on with their early scoops, so even though this has been denied, there is still a possibility it could come true.
The report on Latino Review is VERY SPOILERY, so if you choose to head over there and read it, be warned that is reveals some key bits on information you may not want to read. It also reveals that the line-up for The Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2 will have a very different line-up to what we have seen in The Avengers and what will be in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The deal which has apparently been made is for Spider-Man to appear in The Avengers: Infinity War, but it also states that Spider-Man will be re-cast, thus bringing an end to Andrew Garfield’s short, but rather impressive run as the superhero.
Where this leaves Sony’s next two Spider-Man films (if indeed they ever get made), and their planned Venom and Sinister Six films is anybody’s guess, but Sony have been moving very slowly on them so far.
Maybe there will be an official announcement on this soon, maybe not. For now this is one massive rumour, so take with a pinch of salt.
