More clips from Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie have arrived on-line tonight, and you can view them all below.
Most interesting is the first clip, which see’s Chappie learning the way of behaving like a street thug. The rest of the clips are snippets from the film, and most notably we get a peak at Hugh Jackman’s bizarre outfit, to match his weird and wonderful mullet haircut.
Neill Blomkamp directs the film from a screenplay he has written with Terri Tatchell. He will also produce the film with Simon Kinberg. The film will be released in UK cinemas on 6th March.
Chappie tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes. The film stars Sharlto Copley as the voice of Chappie, with Ninja and Yolandi Visser, voices of the South African Zef counter-culture movement and members of rap-rave duo Die Antwoord, as the two gangsters. The cast also includes Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and Jose Pablo Cantillo
Synopsis:
Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.
