Felicity Jones to star in Gareth Edwards’ ‘Star Wars’ spin-off

Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Theory of Everything) is set to star in Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars standalone movie, but before you go getting to excited, zero details have been revealed.

All we know is that Jones will be playing the female lead, a role which both Rooney Mara and Tatiana Maslany met with Disney for. Both Mara and Maslany had tested for the role, but Jones is now in negotiations for the part.

While Jones is looking to play the female lead, it is still unclear if the spin-off will focus on a female, or male character. Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Edgar Ramirez (The Bourne Ultimatum) are reportedly being eyed for the male lead.

Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla) will direct the first of the Star Wars spin-off movies, which will be released on 16th December 2016.

Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four) will direct the second spin-off.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
