As we all digest the awesome news that Neill Blomkamp will direct the next Alien film, a new clip from the directors latest sci-fi feature, Chappie, has just been released.
Following District 9 and Elysium, Chappie see’s a A.I who develops human emotions, and poses a serious threat to mankind. In this clip we see Chappie hunting the bad guys as part of a police unit, but things go badly wrong as Chappie breaks down a door holding s criminal on the other side.
Neill Blomkamp directs the film from a screenplay he has written with Terri Tatchell. He will also produce the film with Simon Kinberg. The film will be released in UK cinemas on 6th March.
Chappie tells the story of a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters who want to use him for their own nefarious purposes. The film stars Sharlto Copley as the voice of Chappie, with Ninja and Yolandi Visser, voices of the South African Zef counter-culture movement and members of rap-rave duo Die Antwoord, as the two gangsters. The cast also includes Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and Jose Pablo Cantillo
