Aquaman is not exactly the most exciting character in the DC universe, and many find the character a bit of a joke. Even though he has incredible strength and ferocious abilities, with a powerful Trident to boot, Aquaman never really got the respect other DC characters got. However, Zack Snyder wants to change all that as he prepares to introduce Aquaman to his DC world.
Jason Momoa has signed on the appear as Aquaman in at least three movies: these include next years Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (the film that will set up The Justice League), The Justice League: Part One which arrives in 2017, and also a Aquaman stand-alone movie. Momoa is also expected to appear in The Justice League: Part Two.
He will make his first appearance in next years Batman v Superman, and Snyder could not leave fans waiting any longer, so tonight he has posted the very first image of Momoa as the aquatic hero, and you will find the image below.
It is a far cry from the colourful green, orange and yellow usually associated with the character, and Momoa is sporting a very intense look. The blending of tattoos with scaly skin looks awesome, and with Momoa playing the role, suddenly Aquaman has become a fearsome presence.
The image states “Unite the Seven”, which is reference to the Justice League itself. So far we have Momoa as Aquaman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Green Lantern is yet to be cast.
