Last month we were finally treated to the very first trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s return to horror, Crimson Peak, and while not everything about the trailer seemed to work, the film looks incredible.

We can now confirm that Crimson Peak will be a proper scary horror film, as the master of horror writing himself has been treated to an early screening, and says the film is “fucking terrifying”. Stephen King was treated to an early screening of the film, courtesy of director Guillermo del Toro, and King has confirmed that the film is gorgeous, terrifying and it “electrified” him.

Here are the Tweets King released after seeing the Gothic horror:

Guillermo del Toro’s haunted house horror, Crimson Peak, will arrive in cinemas on October 16th 2015.

Official synopsis:

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
