Hannibal producer to write the new ‘Friday the 13th’ movie

The last we heard on the latest Friday the 13th movie, the release date had been delayed from Friday the 13th November to Friday the 13th May 2016. While the delay is frustrating, at least the long gestating film is finally happening.

We now have a new update on the film, and we can report that a new writer has come onboard to work on the draft written by The Autopsy of Jane Doe duo Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. Nick Antosca (who has produced episodes for the Hannibal TV series) is now signed on the write the latest gruesome tale of Jason Vorhees. Antosca has previously written for Teen Wolf, Last Resort and Believe.

David Bruckner (The Signal, VHS) is directing, and the film is said to not just feature Jason Vorhees, but also his Mother. Reports have suggested that relationships between Jason and his Mother have become very problematic. It has also been confirmed that the film will be R-rated (naturally).

Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes are producing.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
