The first image from Portal to Hell, which see’s former Wrestler ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper battle Cthulhu has arrived, and you can view the image below.

The film is a horror comedy, and while a simply image is not a lot to go on, the below image looks great, and certainly hints at the horrors and fun to be had in this film.

Back in December it was announced that Raven Banner had come onboard to help finance the film after a successful IndieGogo campaign, and they also bagged international rights. XYZ Films are also involved and they will handle US distribution, while Raven Banner also distributes in Canada.

Vivieno Caldinelli’s horror comedy stars Roddy Piper as a semi-retired building manager who discovers a supernatural portal in the basement, and has to stop old god Cthulhu becoming overlord of the Earth.

An adaptation of a short film of the same name, the feature film will take a much larger view of the short film’s unique world and follow the ragtag group’s battle against Cthulhu on his home turf of R’lyeh.

Synopsis:

Jack is a simple man with simple needs. Mostly he just needs to be left alone to read his book. It’s a good book and he likes it, or at least he would if the tenants of the building he manages weren’t so damn needy themselves. And it’s not just blown fuses and clogged toilets here … no, when the building power goes out the culprit is a pair of tenants opening a portal to hell in the basement. Does this count as building maintenance? Is battling the supernatural part of Jack’s job description? Maybe not, but if Jack can’t close the portal the entire building and – let’s face it – the whole world is screwed.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
