Having already dabbled in TV horror with an excellent performance in American Horror Story, Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto has now been cast in another horror TV series, Hannibal Season 3.
EW confirmed the news, stating that Quinto, who is currently starring on NBC’s The Slap, will appear in at least one episode of the third season as a patient of Bedelia’s (Gillian Anderson).
This casting also see’s Quinto working once again with Bryan Fuller, the pair previously worked together on TV series Heroes.
A little over a month ago True Detective actor Glenn Fleshler was cast in Hannibal as Cordell, a villainous role. Cordell is described as the personal doctor to a disfigured Mason Verger, quiet, very intelligent, and definitely creepy. He is attentive and gentle with Mason, a professional who cares about his work but we get a sense he might be as sadistic as Mason Verger and a perfect fit to become his potential henchman.
“Hannibal” has been beefing up its cast, with “Hobbit” star Richard Armitage set to portray serial killer Francis Dolarhyde, a.k.a “The Tooth Fairy.” Rutina Wesley, of “True Blood,” signed on for the role of Reba McClane, a blind woman who is Dolarhyde’s last chance at humanity.
The show also replaced “Boardwalk Empire” actor Michael Pitt with Joe Anderson for Verger’s role.
