We’ve already seen a trailer, a TV spot and some images from director Brad Bird’s (The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol) upcoming sci-fi Tomorrowland, but all that has barely scratched the surface of this mysterious sci-fi project.
Tonight Disney have released a brand new full length trailer which finally goes into a lot of detail about the films plot, and shows of spectacle after spectacle of sci-fi brilliance. The special effects on display here are quite simply out of this world, and the whole idea of a mysterious place existing like this (while done in many different forms before) is quite wonderful. With a director with Bird’s skills in charge, and boasting a ever charming George Clooney in the lead, Tomorrowland just became one of my most anticipated films of the year.
The bold, ambitious scale of this film and its ideas look perfect, and while it all seems to be about adventure and wonder, there is a cheeky side shining through as well, mostly from what appears to be a rather cocky Clooney. Tomorrowland is looking quite brilliant I can happily report.
Tomorrowland is written and directed by Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol, Ratatouille, The Incredibles), with Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus) co-writing. The cast includes George Clooney, Britt Robertson, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Hugh Laurie and Tim McGraw.
The sci-fi spectacle arrives in cinemas 22nd May 2015.
