X-Men: Apocalypse

Also revealed today are two pieces of concept art from X-Men: Apocalypse. Again revealed by Empire, the images show new character to the film franchise, Angel, and Bryan Singer confirmed that Eastenders actor Ben Hardy will be playing the role.

“Ben Hardy is Angel – I shall confirm it for you! But he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say…”

Bryan Singer is directing X-Men: Apocalypse.

Singer has described the upcoming X-Men film, which is expected to feature all cast members including Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy, as the most destructive movie in the franchise.

“‘Apocalypse’ will have more of the mass destruction that ‘X-Men’ films, to date, have not relied upon,” he recently said. “There’s definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle.”

Singer also said that “Apocalypse,” set in the 1980s, will feature younger versions of familiar characters.

“I call these movies in-between-quels. It’s a mind-f**k sometimes in terms of where things fall in the timeline.”

The cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Fox will release the film on May 27, 2016.

Here’s how Marvel.com describe the Apocalypse story:

In the harsh, unforgiving desert of ancient Egypt, ruled by Rama-Tut, a band of nomadic raiders found an infant, gray-skinned and freakish in appearance, abandoned by the settlers of Akkaba. The nomads took the child for their own, giving him the name En Sabah Nur, “The First One,” and teaching him to be “strong” in order to survive the desert as a child.

In recent years, Apocalypse was somehow awakened by the arrival of Cyclops’ son from the future, Cable. Apocalypse made another move against Cyclops and his team, X-Factor, by pitting them against a team of his own creation, the Alliance of Evil. Although he never used his Alliance again, Apocalypse soon formed the Horsemen of Apocalypse to plague humankind, when his ideas to “cull” humanity in order for the rise of mutant supremacy were beginning.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
