Two familiar faces are home in second stunning ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ teaser trailer


Oh man has JJ Abrams nailed it, or has JJ Abrams nailed it! Tonight, as the Star Wars Celebration begins (which is streaming live), a second teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released, and it is just incredible.

Beginning with a shot of an Imperial ship downed in the sand, followed by a wonderful voiceover from Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, and a chilling shot of Darth Vader’s destroyed helmet, the trailer soon erupts into jaw dropping action.

Awesome space fights, lightsaber battles, droids, villains and heroes, the trailer engulfs everything that made the ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy so great. The trailer also uses some of the finer Star Wars themes to help raise those hairs on the back of your neck, before finishing off with a wonderful moment where two of Star Wars’ greatest characters announce that they are home.

Abrams has created, on the evidence of this teaser trailer, a new Star Wars films which looks exactly like the original films we all adore so much, but has brought it up to date with some added menace and coolness that will delight fans. This looks truly epic, and is sure to be a Star Wars fans dream come true.

Oh, and while you watch the trailer screaming with delight with your hands waving frantically, remember this is still JUST a teaser trailer!

The official poster has also been released, which you can view below along with what is thought to be some really impressive fan art.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in theaters December 18, 2015. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, and features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker. The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk, and John Williams returns as the composer. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Episode VII in the Star Wars Saga.
