Suicide Squad director David Ayer loves using Twitter to update on his latest film, and so far he has treated fans to behind the scenes images, plus a striking first look at Jared Leto’s The Joker.

Now Ayer has taken to Twitter once again to reveal the majority of his team of villains. The image below does not include Jared Leto’s The Joker, or Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

However, the image of Task Force X (as they are known) includes: From left to right- Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara (kneeling) as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

Ayer also posted a stand-alone image of Will Smith as Deadshot, in full gear:

While we’re on the subject of Suicide Squad, Tom Hardy revealed in an interview with Collider exactly why he had to leave the project:

There’s a very practical element as to why I’ve missed out on that foray, which is because Alejandro [G. Inarritu] has overshot by three months in Calgary, so we’ve got to go back out to Patagonia or Alaska to continue shooting The Revenant which has turned into a much bigger beast than we thought, but that also looks exceptional.”

The Revenant is Inarritu’s follow up to his Oscar winning Birdman, which starred Michael Keaton.

Hardy continued:

“There’s a very practical element as to why I’ve missed out on that foray, which is because Alejandro [G. Inarritu] has overshot by three months in Calgary, so we’ve got to go back out to Patagonia or Alaska to continue shooting The Revenant which has turned into a much bigger beast than we thought, but that also looks exceptional.”

Hardy then shared his love for Warner Brothers, plus some interesting details about Suicide Squad:

“Warner Bros. is my home studio and I love them so I was really bummed out. I wanted to work on that and I know the script is really fucking alley (means up there with the best) and I also know what’s gonna happen with The Joker and Harley Quinn in that; I won’t give away too much…it’s fucking alley. And that whole territory is something that I would certainly—I mean, everybody loves The Joker. Everybody loves The Joker. Will Smith is a dope guy, but everybody loves The Joker and that’s gonna, I think, be a very important film for fans.”

David Ayer (End of Watch, Sabotage, Fury) will write and direct Suicide Squad.

Warner Bros. president Greg Silverman said in a statement: “The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one. David Ayer returns to the studio where he wrote Training Day and brings his incredible ability to craft multidimensional villains to this iconic DC property with a cast of longtime Warner collaborators Will Smith, and other new and returning favorites: Margot, Jared, Jai and Cara. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.”

Charles Roven (Man of Steel) is producing, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson, and Geoff Johns onboard as executive producers.

Here is how the line-up of actors now looks:

Jared Leto – The Joker

Will Smith – Deadshot

Joel Kinnaman – Rick Flag

Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn

Jai Courtney – Boomerang

Cara Delevingne – Enchantress

Viola Davis – Amanda Waller

Jesse Eisenberg – Lex Luthor (rumoured)

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
