And the surprising news of the day to hit us at HCF goes to this little beauty! Remember Shanghai Noon? If you don’t, I don’t blame you as it was over 15 years ago and the sequel which changed the “Noon” of the tile and put in its place “Knights” was released 12 years ago.
Well it seems that Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson have agreed to reprise their roles for a third film which will now have “Dawn” in its title.
Now I am quite excited at this! The original was a real fun romp which jumped on the bandwagon of Chan’s Rush Hour success, which saw good old Jackie play an Imperial Guard from China who had to travel to the Wild West to save his Princess, and ending up teaming up with Wilson’s rogue Cowboy.
The first film was box office gold and the sequel, while taking a moderate return, was not as good, but still loads of fun.
Why this has come out of the blue all of a sudden is anyone’s guess?, and all we know at the moment is that there is no script in place, but the two stars are defiantly on-board.
More on this long overdue franchise sequel when we get it.
