TV: ‘Hannibal Season 3’ reveals in depth first look plus a cheeky new TV spot

NBC are ramping up the activity to promote the return of Hannibal, as Season 3 is just a couple of weeks away.

Tonight we have a rather cheeky TV spot titled “A Cannibal in Paris”, and I must say I am loving the comedy element to these promotional TV spots, the latest especially.

If you are looking for something a little more serious, then a three minute first look video has also been released, which delves into plenty of details on what the new season has in store.

It’s just a few weeks to go before Hannibal returns to NBC for its third season, and the synopsis for the first episode has now been released. The synopsis reads as follows:

Having successfully escaped FBI capture, Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving through the European landscape, with Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) in tow.But Dr. Lecter’s old habits and opulent tastes are still on display as he settles into a new identity and life in Florence, Italy, working at the Palazzo Capponi museum. Glimpses into the past help inform his relationship with Bedelia, a pairing not clearly defined as friend or foe.

It has been revealed that Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice, Haunter) would be directing the first three episodes, and that Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, Dog Soldiers, The Descent) would be directing the eighth episode.

Showrunner Bryan Fuller has revealed the titles of the first three episodes, and since Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) and Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) have jetted off to Italy, the titles are fitting: “Antipasto”, “Primavera” and “Secondo”.

“HANNIBAL” — Season 3 kicks off Thursday, June 4, 10-11 p.m. (Episode 3.01 – “Antipasto”)

The dark and haunting series “Hannibal” returns for a third season, revealing the fates of characters hanging in the balance and their continuing psychological cat-and-mouse games.

After the shocking events of the season finale, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) is on the run in Europe — accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) — sporting a new identity but servicing the same insatiable appetite. As the lives of Will (Hugh Dancy), Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways, and nothing will ever be the same again.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
