Jaume Balagueo is the co-writer and director of the first two [Rec] films, and he and directing partner Paco Plaza split the last two films between them, resulting in Balaguero writing and directing [Rec] 4: Apocalypse.
While the fourth film was not as good as the first two, Balaguero also directing the viciously intense thriller Sleep Tight, proving he was one of the most exciting horror directors working in world cinema.
Out of Cannes comes news of his next film, Muse, and the first creepy poster has been discovered in the Cannes trade mags, along with a synopsis, courtesy of Bloody Disgusting.
Muse’ turns on Salomon, who has been off work since the tragic death off his girlfriend. Now, anxious to return to some semblance of normality, he goes back to his job as a police officer. But he hasn’t slept for months and has been suffering a recurring nightmare in which a woman is brutally murdered.
Back at work, the nightmare becomes a reality: the same woman who appears every night in his dreams is found dead in exactly the same circumstances. Now, Salomon will do whatever he can to solve this case and to discover the identity of the mystery woman.
