I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Always Sometimes Monsters and The Witcher

  1. The ending scene of The Blair Witch Project (1999). More specifically the eerie screaming of Josh in the basement just before the chilling silence of Michael dropping the camera and Heather screaming in the back

  2. when Katie gets dragged out of bed in paranormal activity. not slept with my leg trailing out of bed since!

  3. I quite enjoyed Europa Report, a Sci Fi found footage movie which is a bit of a rarity. The most memorable scene for e was the final one on the space craft

As the ship crashes through the ice, and Dasque buckles herself into the flight seat, water is pouring into the main cabin and rushing up towards her and signalling her imminent death. The cameras running as she tries to get the footage of the alien to mission control, and then the sudden image of the creature as we see it clearly for the first time.. Really tense that scene.

  4. The last 10 minutes of rec are unbelievably tense – where she’s stuck in the room with who knows what.

  5. The end of Blair Witch is hard to beat but I also love the bit in the 1st V/H/S film where she flies off with him – “I like you!”. Also the scene in the tent in Willow Creek, a long unbroken shot with very little said but their facial expressions as they react to the noises outside are fantastic, really scary.

  6. I think the bit in Cloverfield were the monster throws the head of the statue of liberty down the street. Was really cool.

  7. The scene at the end of Paranormal Activity when Katie’s face transforms into a demon and she flies at the screen – I must have watched that movie a thousand times and I still jump and grab a cushion when it happens.

  8. The attic scene in REC send chills up my spine or if not the last scene of Michael in Blair Witch project standing in the corner of Rustin Parr’s home. 😈

  9. Didn’t particularly like Blair witch but the ending was creepy and made up for the rest of the film x

  10. I think that Frankenstein’s Army was found footage – a really strage film – I thought that the section towards the end where the two brains are fused together was particulary wierd along with most of the creatures created by Frankenstein in the film.

  11. The Dyatlov Pass Incident – the ending, where it all draws together and you realise who the ‘creatures’ are.

  12. There are so many brilliant moments in Found Footage horrors, from the surprise kitchen scene in Paranormal Activity 2, the final scene in Grave Encounters is absolutely terrifying and made me jump out of my seat and the barn exorcism scene from The Last Exorcism is fantastic! 😛
