James Wan producing feature film of terrifying short ‘Lights Out’, nightmares are guaranteed

Have you seen the short film Lights Out? Written and directed by David Sandberg and Lotta Losten, the short film was released a little over a year ago, and if you missed it, its embedded below. Be warned though, its bloody terrifying and creepy to the extreme.

The simple concept of something lurking in the dark is used to maximum effect, and a full length version of the short would be amazing.

Buried in a report by Variety about James Wan expanding his production company was a brief mention of Light Out, and it states that this will be Wan’s next producing project. I am ecstatic with excitement!

Gabriel Bateman (“Stalker”) will star in New Line’s horror project Lights Out with James Wan producing and Sandberg directing the full length version of his own short. Sandberg will also co-write.

Lawrence Grey and Eric A. Heisserer are also producing, with Heiserer writing the script based on Sandberg’s 2013 short film.

The story centers on a supernatural entity attacking a family, with one of the members required to step up to protect them from a threat that can be seen only when the lights go out.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
