Room 237 director Rodney Ascher’s sleep paralysis documentary, The Nightmare, is said to be terrifying, and now we have a German horror film getting in on the action.
Directed by Akiz, Der Nachtmahr is an impressive looking horror which focuses on a 16 year old girl called Tina, who also suffers from sleep paralysis. Judging by the below trailer, she has a really bad case of bad dreams, and the visual feast, with added brain smashing soundtrack, confirms this German horror could be rather excellent.
Der Nachtmahr is directed by Akiz, and the cast includes Carolyn Genzkow, Sina Tkotsch, Michael Epp and American musician Kim Gordon (formerly of Sonic Youth).
“Der Nachtmarh” centers on Tina, a 16-year-old girl who seemingly has everything a young teenager could ever ask for. After a massive party one evening, however, she begins experiencing nightmares in which she is haunted by an unusual creature. As reality and dreams collide, Tina finds herself befriending the monster and forging a relationship that will change the lives of everyone around her.
