Will you accept ‘The Gift’ from a psycho in UK trailer for new Blumhouse horror

Ah the old psycho from the past trick gets a welcome comeback to screens in Joel Edgerton’s The Gift, a film which he writes, directs and stars in.

The psycho on the loose genre doesn’t get half the air time as it used ti, especially back in the 90’s, but we are seeing a few of these types of films popping up now and again, and The Gift looks to be a high point in the genre. When you consider horror master Jason Blum is involved as producer, there is very little that can go wrong here, and the strong cast all look to be doing a great job realising Edgerton’s desire to creep out his audience.

Check out the new UK trailer below.

The Gift is written and directed by Joel Edgerton, who also stars alongside Rebecca Hall and Jason Bateman. The film will stalk UK cinemas from 7th August.

Can you really go through life having never wronged anyone? Even if you are unaware of how, or when, and even who you may have wronged, chances are there is someone out there who won’t ever forget it… or you.

Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) are a young married couple whose life is going just as planned until a chance encounter with an acquaintance from Simon’s high school sends their world into a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn’t recognize Gordo (Joel Edgerton) at first, but after a seemingly coincidental series of encounters proves troubling, a horrifying secret from their past is uncovered after nearly 20 years. As Robyn learns the unsettling truth about what happened between Simon and Gordo, she starts to question: How well do we really know the people closest to us, and are past bygones ever really bygones?

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
