Neil Marshall is the British director responsible awesome films and TV work. His horror films Dog Soldiers and The Descent were among the best genre offerings of the noughties, while his action films Centurion and Doomsday were brilliant, and shockingly violent in places.
He has made a name for himself in TV too, directing episodes for Black Sails, Hannibal, Constantine and most notably two of the best episodes in Game of Thrones: Season Two’s Blackwater, and Season Four’s The Watchers on the Wall.
Deadline confirms that Marshall is now headed back to feature films with his next project. Titled The Sentence, the only plot details given were that the futuristic revenge thriller will be similar to the Charles Bronson starring classic film series, Death Wish.
I am all for that!
Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt will write the film. Marc Helwig will produce through Applebox Entertainment, the shingle that the former literary agent hatched with Marshall. EuropaCorp will fully finance.
