Rumour: Jurassic World director to helm ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

Colin Trevorrow

There is a whopping rumour circulating out of Comic-Con, and its something Star Wars related. The word on the Comic-Con floor is that Colin Trevorrow, the man who turned Jurassic World well and truly into a monster (over $1 billion worldwide a rising), will be directing Star Wars: Episode IX.

Heroic Hollywood first reported the news, stating that Trevorrow was expected to take to the stage during the Star Wars panel. This since didn’t happen, but the rumours are very much expected to be true, with many citing that Disney will make the announcement soon.

It is also thought that the reason that Trevorrow will not return for Jurassic Park 5 is due to his commitment to Star Wars: Episode IX. Apparently talks have been going on for months.

When asked if he would be returning to direct the next installment of Jurassic Park, Trevorrow is quoted as saying:

“Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie. I would be involved in some way, but not as director.”

Note the Star Wars reference.

More on this as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
