After months of speculation and numerous news stories, FOX have tonight announced that PRISON BREAK, the cult highly addictive TV Show is coming back for an official fifth season.
“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel, it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show,” Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour.
“The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience… It’ll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season.”
Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are due to reprise their roles as the brothers Michael and Lincoln, despite Miller’s character being killed off in what was then we assumed the last ever episode.
“I don’t think he’s going to completely ignore what happened in that episode, but what he pitched to us was a very logical and believable explanation in the world of Prison Break for why are character’s alive and still moving around the world.” explained fellow FOX Gary Newman.
“He had a very detailed incredible story for why these character.s become relevant again and why they’re back,”
Prison Break is due a 10 episode run and as this is still at the now planned writing stage, there is no plot details to give.
Its going to be a busy period for both Miller and Purcell who also star together in The Flash and also the spin off Legends Of Tomorrow.
More on this when it happens!
