Joaquin Phoenix and M. Night Shyamalan re-team for new feature with horror producer Jason Blum

Actor Joaquin Phoenix and director M. Night Shyamalan have previously worked together on Signs (2002) and The Village (2004), and now Deadline are reporting that the pair are once again working together, on a mystery project.

No details about the new film, not even a title, have been revealed, but Phoenix is said to be in final negotiations to star. The film will shoot in Shyamalan’s hometown of Philadelphia.

The king of low budget and high money making horror, Jason Blum, will produce. Blum recently worked with Shyamalan on the directors return to real horror, The Visit which is due for release later this year.

Marc Bienstock also produces, while Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider are on board as exec producers.

Expect more on this as it develops.

A keen enthusiast and collector of all horror and extreme films. I can be picky as i like quality in my horror. This doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a classic, but as long as it has something to impress me then i'm a fan. I watch films by the rule that if it doesn't bring out some kind of emotive response then it aint worth watching.
